Educator. Leader. Your voice on the Slidell City Council At-Large. Four years of proven results — and a plan to keep Slidell moving forward.
Dr. Jeff Burgoyne has spent his career building partnerships with families across Slidell. As an assistant principal at Slidell High School for over 17 years, he's worked alongside parents, students, and educators to create better outcomes for our community.
Jeff and his wife Kim — a principal at Florida Avenue Elementary — chose Slidell as the place to raise their family because they saw its potential: a safe, stable community with room to grow. That belief drives Jeff's work on the City Council every day.
In 2022, Jeff entered the at-large race as a political newcomer with a simple message: Slidell can be better, and he wanted to be part of making it happen. Voters agreed, and Jeff has spent his first term delivering on that promise — fighting for improved drainage, supporting economic development, and ensuring every neighborhood has a voice at City Hall.
Continue supporting the Slidell Police Department with the resources, training, and funding they need to keep our neighborhoods safe and families protected.
Attract quality businesses to Slidell — especially light manufacturing, technology, and professional services — while revitalizing vacant storefronts and the North Shore Square site.
Invest in continued drainage improvements and flood control to protect homes and businesses. Ensure a safe, reliable water supply for every Slidell resident.
Complete the Tammany Trace into Slidell and make every neighborhood bikeable and walkable. Olde Towne should be reachable on foot from across the city.
Partner with local businesses to create mentorship and training programs that keep Slidell's brightest young people here — building careers and building our community.
Diversify Slidell's revenue base beyond sales tax reliance. Be smart stewards of taxpayer dollars while maximizing the services our citizens expect and deserve.
Supported critical infrastructure investments to reduce flood risk across Slidell neighborhoods, working with city engineers to prioritize the areas most in need.
Voted to increase resources for the Slidell Police Department, ensuring officers have the training and equipment to serve our community safely and effectively.
Pushed to attract new businesses to fill vacant storefronts and diversify Slidell's economy beyond its reliance on retail and sales tax revenue.
Built strong working relationships across the council and with the administration — bringing the same partnership-first approach he honed over 17 years in education.
Maintained an open door for constituents across every district, ensuring that every voice in Slidell has been heard at the at-large level.
Jeff Burgoyne brings the same dedication to the City Council that he's shown for years as an educator. He listens, he follows through, and he truly cares about our city's future.
As a parent with kids at Slidell schools, I've seen firsthand how Jeff builds trust with families. That same approach makes him an outstanding council member for all of us.
Jeff doesn't just talk about economic growth — he's been a voice on the council pushing to bring better jobs and businesses to Slidell. We need him back for another term.
It's refreshing to have a council member who leads with integrity and keeps his promises. Jeff Burgoyne has earned my vote again on May 16th.
